Every ranking, review and comparison on bitcoinethxrp follows the same process. This page explains what that process is, so you can judge how much weight to give what you read here. It also states plainly where the site makes money and how that is kept separate from the recommendations.
Who writes this
bitcoinethxrp is written by Bernard Mudafort. Background in software engineering, active in DeFi since 2018, with live positions across Aave, Curve, Uniswap, Lido and Arbitrum. The site exists to explain crypto and DeFi in plain English, ranked by safety and real returns rather than hype. Bernard holds long term positions in BTC, ETH and XRP, plus small testing positions in protocols covered on the site. Those holdings are disclosed on any page where they are relevant.
The verification process
- Primary sources only for time sensitive facts. Rates, fees, prices, total value locked and audit status are taken from the protocol’s own interface, its documentation, or on chain data at the time of writing. Not from other blogs.
- Yields are published as 30 day averages, not spot rates. A protocol’s headline APY can be several times its monthly average. In late August 2026, Aave’s USDC rate touched 11 percent for a few days against a 3.81 percent 30 day average. Quoting the spike would flatter the page and mislead the reader, so rate tables here use the 30 day mean and carry the date they were checked.
- Hands on testing before writing. A platform is used with real funds, at least at a small scale, before it is reviewed or ranked. Setup friction, hidden fees and withdrawal behaviour are things you only find by doing it.
- Every factual claim is sourced. Numbers and specific claims say where they came from, so you can check them yourself and see how current they are.
- Comparison content is reviewed quarterly. Rankings and best of lists are re-checked every quarter and the rate tables are re-dated. DeFi moves fast and a six month old rate table is misleading.
- Corrections are public. If a reader flags an error and it checks out, the page is fixed and the change is noted. Mistakes are corrected in the open, not quietly edited.
What we will not do
- Rank a protocol we would not use ourselves.
- Recommend anything with no audit history, an anonymous team, or a short track record without saying so clearly.
- Sell placement in a ranking. Position is earned on the criteria below, never paid for.
- Publish AI generated content that has not been checked and rewritten by a person.
How rankings are scored
Best and versus articles weigh the same four factors, in this order:
- Safety. Audit history, time in operation without a major exploit, total value locked, and the quality and transparency of the team. This is weighted highest because a higher yield means nothing if the principal is lost.
- Real return. The yield after fees, gas and compounding, not the headline APY. See APY vs APR for how that is calculated.
- Access and cost to start. Minimum amounts, supported networks, and how much of a small balance gets eaten by fees.
- Ease of use. How hard the setup is, how clear the interface is, and how painful withdrawals are.
Ranked by what you keep means a platform that advertises a high rate but takes a large cut, or forces expensive mainnet transactions, will rank below a plainer option that leaves more in your pocket.
How the site makes money
Some links on the site are affiliate links, including to hardware wallets and some platforms. If you use one and later buy or sign up, bitcoinethxrp may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed near the top of any page that contains those links.
Affiliate relationships do not affect rankings, scores or verdicts. A product is placed where the criteria above put it. If the best option on a list pays no commission and a worse option does, the best option still wins the list. Where that happens, it is stated openly.
